Straight hair (-:

After Maci's bath she found my jewelry box - so I took advantage of her being distracted and straightened her hair... (I know it's probably a bad thing to do, but I just had to see what it looked like straight!) It took me forever to get it this straight... and 15 minutes after I took the pictures her curls were already springing back! It's so hard to tell usually how long it's getting because as soon as you brush it - it curls right up. I was shocked at how blond she looks with it this way!

This is where she started getting annoyed with me taking pictures! She's trying to say cheese and smile at the same time so I'll quit taking pictures of her! She finally told me that she was too tired for anymore pictures and laid with her head down on the couch so I couldn't take anymore!

Bug off...

My poor girl is horribly allergic to mosquito's... She got bit on the top of her forehead and two days later it made almost the whole left side of her face swell huge. It's a little hard to tell in this picture, but the bridge of her nose is so swollen that it made her eyes look far apart. If she gets bit anywhere - it looks awful and takes forever to heal. I feel so bad for her! She even looks sad!

Miss Stubborn!

I somedays think I have the most stubborn child on the earth! This is what she wanted to wear to the store recently... I knew the cowgirl boots were a mistake to even buy (-: When I told her that she had to put clothes on and she wasn't wearing the boots with shorts the fight was on! The days that we have no where to go, I avoid the battle at all costs and let her wear whatever floats her boat that day!

I just thought this pose was funny! It gives you the full effect of the "outfit"! I swear the girl would just wear undies all day long if I'd let her some days and then others she wants to wear the whole shabang - shirt, sweater, jeans, skirt, jacket, hat... you get the picture - I think she likes layers!

Happy Mother's Day!

Our Mother's Day morning started out wonderful! I woke up to the biggest hug & kiss EVER and my little angel telling me "I WUB YOU MOMMY"! I love those 4 little words more than anything! As the day progressed it started to turn a little south... (should have known haha) We were watering the flowers in front and back so I went to move the hose in the front leaving Miss. Mischief all by herself in the back (BIG MISTAKE) anyway as I came through the house I saw Maci in the living room with the hose going full blast watering the carpet!!! She thought she was helping I suppose (-: After my initial panic attack I had to remind myself about my morning hug and those sweet words...

This is how I left her:

This is what I came back too!

Thank God she hadn't made it any farther into the house!
After our clean-up we had a BBQ at my parents house with some family and friends which was really nice especially since I had been gone the prior week. Maci stayed with my parents while I was in Anaheim for a class and they explained to Maci that her mommy had went to an airport and flew far away for a few days. The first day I was gone, she was fine. The next two days were a little rough. She told anyone and everyone that her mommy was at the airport and then she would get huge aligator tears in her eyes. Her Nana tried to console her by taking her shopping, but even light-up jelly shoes didn't do the trick! When I got back she ran to me and wouldn't let go! She keeps telling me that she missed me when I was at the airport and that she was sad )-: It broke my heart!
She asked me last night if I could be her best friend! I can't believe the stuff she comes up with! My little baby isn't a little baby anymore - but at least she's my "best friend"!

Beware - Triple X (-:

Maci got a new scooter recently that she has been trying to figure out... I don't know why she insisted on riding it topless, but who am I to argue with a 2 1/2 year old! She loves it even more because it has who else besides Barbie all over it! She's turning into such a big girl... She still isn't sure about all the safety pads I made her wear, the only things she loved were the gloves!

Warming up for the big ride:

Happy Easter!

This Easter was great because Maci really got into looking for eggs. She had met "the Easter Bunny" the day before Easter, so that is all she would talk about! We spent the day with part of our family, having a BBQ and hunting for eggs! It was so cold and windy that we had to forget about an easter dress, but I thought she still looked cute! It's always such a nice time when we get to spend it with our family, especially when other kids are there since Maci loves other kids so much! She was so worn out after the egg hunt that she crashed for 2 hours! Or maybe it was that the sugar high finally wore off...

Looking for eggs with Nana's help (-:

Saying cheese! She was so excited when she saw her basket that the easter bunny brought to her! She kept trying to say "thanks easter bunny"!

My Easter morning surprise...

My first clue upon waking up that something terrible had happened during the night...

The second clue...

BUSTED! The little culprit had worn herself out so she decided to crawl into bed with me once all the destruction was over... My sheets & comforter were covered in blue... along with her whole body... I even had blue on me when I woke up! Never again will I buy anything that isn't clear, EVER!

Terrible Two's (-:

I just wanted to share some funny stories that my little Maci has inspired lately!

A few weeks ago Maci came into my room in the middle of the night wanting to sleep with me... I usually don't let her, but who am I to argue between the hours of 12:00 and 4:00am! Anyway she crawled in and I smelled lotion, but being the lazy butt I am I just ignored it, laid her down with me and fell back to sleep. The next morning we got up as usual, started to get dressed... all was well until the shoes... as soon as I started going through her shoes I noticed something was wrong. My darling little precious daughter had poured lotion INSIDE all of her shoes... that was fun to clean up!

A few nights later, she once again came into my room either very late at night, or very early in the morning and told me that she ate ketchup and she wanted a glass of water. Thinking I would be a little smarter this time around, I decided not to ignore her... THANK GOD! It looked like she had bathed in ketchup! It was in her ears, down her belly, all over her legs - I mean every where! Another fun thing to clean up!

Another of her favorite past times is to find any kind of cream possible, whether it be lotion, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste - you name it, nothing is off limits, and smear it all over any glass or window surface she can find! My mirrors are always covered in something!

This morning I got up at my usual time (10 minutes late...) and was getting ready. I had just bought some stuff to put in your hair when it was dry and decided today was the perfect time to try it out! Well when I opened it, it looked like it had leaked in the lid so I just swooped my stupid little finger right in there, grabbed as much as I could and started rubbing it through my hair. I kept thinking that it smelled familar but I just couldn't place it. Well I decided I needed a little more so I pumped some out and low & behold it was a totally different color and smell... right then it dawned on me that it was... what else besides TOOTHPASTE! I had to just laugh!

We were driving in the car with my parents and I was eating sunflower seeds - which Maci really really wanted so I started cracking them for her. I had cracked a pretty good little stack and happened to look at her and she had her finger up her nose (which normally isn't anything new unfortunatley!) Anyway I said Maci don't pick your nose and she told me "Me not mommy, my nose eating"! So I panic and tried to see up her nose. I didn't see anything so I thought she was just making up stories (which again isn't anything new!) Well a few minutes later she started sneezing and out came all the sunflower seeds... out of her mouth! At least they traveled down. I was so scared I was going to have to take her to the hospital and explain that I let my 2 year old daughter snort seeds!

Yesterday my friend Misty took Maci with her and her kids to the park (bless her heart!) Apparently when they were leaving Reagan realized that she left her drink so she ran back to get it. When she got back to the car Maci asked her "Reagan - you drink beer???"! Misty said they all just died laughing. I honestly will blame that one on her Papa. She knows where he keeps it, is always trying to get him one and is always more than willing to throw his empties away. From now on - we are cutting him off the beer in front of her.

Anyway, that's my novel for this week! I'm sure most of you can sympathize and the others have so much to look forward too! I will say though that even when I want to scream, I can usually find the humor in it... at least it will make for some embarrassing stories to torture her with later!

Mommy's little helper

Maci has turned into quite the little helper lately! Everything I do, she insits on either helping or doing it by herself - whether it's getting dressed, brushing her hair...

washing dishes...

riding her bike...
making cupcakes...

cracking open peanuts...

you get the picture! She has to do EVERY THING all by herself! It's been so much fun lately watching all the things she can do by herself! She's growing up so fast and actually reasons with me now! If she wants to do something by herself she says "me do it just a little bit k mom"!

March Madness (-:

I'm a little behind on this! Lots has happened in March, Maci got a new swing set, she's turned into a pony riding pro, she finally stopped wearing diapers (except at night) and we celebrated St. Patty's Day & my birthday (uggg)! Here are a few of my favorite pics this month:

I just put this one up to show how Maci likes to dress herself these days! It's a little hard to see because she's trying to escape outside but she's wearing green & blue pajama bottoms that are much too small, red Elmo slippers (which are too small), a pink tutu, a red Dora shirt and a pink hoodie! She told me that was what she was wearing today. I think she would wear the tutu every day if I'd let her because she thinks it's a pretty dress... Maci got a little mask from New Orleans! She chases me screaming MEOW when ever she wears it! It cracks me up because she can't even see out of it so she runs into things all over the place but never stops screaming meow and pretends that she has claws!

Maci's Nana & Papa came by to check out the finished swing set and ended up playing a game of chase! Maci would tell my mom to RUN! and my dad would chase them all over the place trying to tickle her. They were exhausted but Maci was happy! She has them wrapped! (Also if you notice, once again she is in slippers... that's her shoe of choice these days (: )

My family went to eat dinner in Durango for my birthday & of course we HAD to go to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory after! Maci loved the huge bear that sits outside! I just thought she looked so cute and grown up! She informed everyone that "me is really cute"! My dad told her not to get such a big head!
