Some catch up

SO now that I'm on a blogging kick, I thought I'd throw a few updates in... I mentioned in an earlier post that Maci had a sleep over with her friend Tristian. Well they have been great friends for a long time, until now.... Maci now says that Tristian is her boyfriend! I'm so doomed with this kid. I walked in on her asking him "Come on Tristian, just one little kiss"! Apparently they have kissed quite a few times! I guess them taking a bath together is no longer going to happen... My dad told her that she IS NOT allowed to kiss Tristian because he is to old for her and she told him - no he's not papa, him only 4! She's not even shy about any of this!

On a brighter note (I have to have a bragging mama moment), Maci's teacher wants her to start kindergarten a year early so I guess she will be starting kindergarten next year! It's so hard to believe that my little baby really isn't a little baby anymore. She has her first spelling test on 12/2. She knows how to do addition and subtraction and is starting to learn to read. It's so amazing how fast she learns and how much she loves school. Thank God she didn't take after me on that one!

Ok, my bragging moment is over for now! Thanks for listening!

Thanksgiving 2010

For Thanksgiving we went to Durango to my Aunt's house to have dinner with my family. We had such a great time visiting with everyone. So much fun that I forgot that I had a camera there for most of the day... (what's new right???) Anyway, thankfully Maci was feeling better so we could spend time with everyone. Maci had a blast playing with her cousins Shaylee and Taylor (too bad I didn't get any pictures of them together) The girls' talked Maci into pretending that she was the mama and they were the kids, which Maci loved so she could be her normal bossy self!

This year I had so many things to be thankful for, but this is the thing I am most thankful for in the entire world:

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving and have as many blessings as Maci and I do!

Snow... booooo...

Maci was home sick from school on Wednesday when it snowed and she BEGGED to go out and play in it for a few minutes. Obviously I let her dress herself... this is her getting ready for her big adventure...
Maci trying to hit me with a snow ball! Little brat I had to run from her the whole time she was out there!
Trying to catch snow in her mouth

I asked her to smile for me, but she was making a snow ball to hit me with again while I was distracted...

As much as I HATE snow, it is fun when you have a little one to play with in it!

Happy Halloween... a little late (like usual)

So once I'm again I'm a little late on my posts, but you know what they say - better late than never! That is the motto I'm going to live by these day!

I'm a little backwards on these photos, but... after trick or treating we had to stop by and see Brady! We were too late to see him in his costume, but Maci always enjoys seeing one of her favorite cousins!

This was the gang of trick or treaters that we tagged along with! Thank God for Kayla, because Maci was terrified to go to any ones door. I had to go with her to the first 5 or so houses until she got the hang of it and then she finally would go with the other kids!

Once she realized that everyone was giving her tons of candy - she loved it!
After trick or treating we went to a Halloween carnival at a local church. Maci ate a million bags of cotton candy and played tons of games, here she's playing ring toss for yet ANOTHER piece of candy!~

Maci's school had a Halloween party too. Her costume was suppose to be a fairy princess, but she refused to wear the wings or use the wand so I guess she was just a princess. She didn't even want to wear the crown trick or treating! I could have just put her in one of her old princess dresses for free, but...

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Maci's preschool took a field trip to Sutherland Farms today. The kids got to go on a hayride, get pulled in barrels, play in a huge corn box, go through a corn maze and pick their own pumpkins.

Maci & Tristian having a little snack together:
WANTED!!
The barrel ride with her buddy Cash:

Even though it was a little cold, Maci really loved going to the pumpkin patch again this year. I wish I would have got a picture of her pumpkin - she picked the oldest, wrinkled up pumpkin out there and LOVED it! Tonight she read it a bedtime story and it has it's own little bed in her room (only because I forbid her to let it "sleep" in her bed". She even wanted me to kiss it goodnight... I got out of that one! She's so funny!

Just a little fun!

The LaBossiere family invited us to tag along to their company picnic. Loni & JP both work for the same company and it's a huge event. Maci had a blast, she got her face painted, went down the huge slides, got an balloon animal and got to eat tons of yummy food!
Loni & precious Brady!

After the picnic, we went to Big Bounce for Maci's little friends' birthday. She loves that place!

I swear she grows at least an inch a night... Where is my little baby??

She had fun racing on the little animals!

And loves the huge slides of course!

We had a great day, thanks Loni, JP & Brady for letting us tag along and thanks to Bryce for inviting us to your birthday. If I could have got all the kids gathered together for even a second, I would have taken a picture but... impossible!

Overnight guest!

Maci had her first friend over for a sleep over! She just can't get enough of Tristian so we invited him over to play and stay the night! They were so happy playing together!

Misty & I decided that they were still little enough to take a bath together! They were so cute, anytime one of them would get bubbles on their face, the other would wipe it off for them! Seriously they are the cutest things together!

Then they got ready for bed together. They both had to brush their own hair and teeth, because they are big kids now!
I love that they are such good friends and that they care for each other so much! Tristian protects Maci all the time from the "mean kids" and even offered to wrestle a kid who was being mean to her!

Little Cousins!

We stopped by Loni, JP & Brady's house this weekend to see our little Brady! He is so cute and Maci just loves him! She always wants to hold him and kiss on him for a few minutes, then she's ready to go play with other things or people! He is getting so big! He has such a cute personality and I'm so glad that they get to grow up close!
Brady kept trying to turn around to see and touch Maci! She thought it was so funny!
She was trying to get him to smile for her by playing like she was going to get him!

2nd year of preschool

Maci started her second year of preschool in August! She LOVES school and can't wait to go, especially since her friends Tristian and Isely are in her class! I had a ton of pictures of the kids at school, but noticed (after leaving the school of course) that they were all blurry.... so this is all I got pretty much!

The little boy in the picture above is my friend Misty's son Tristian. He and my daughter are inseperable at school! Even the teachers noticed how much they hang out! After the first day of school Maci told me "Mom, isn't Tristian so cute, I just love him"! Her teacher said that he is her defender all the time! They are so cute together! Maci also will only wear clothes that she thinks Tristian will like! I think they are in love!

Home Sweet Home

In late July we happened upon our dream home! My brother (the magazine junkie that he is) noticed a house in a real estate book that he thought I might like. I drove past it, called a realtor, saw the inside - FELL IN LOVE, made an offer and within 2 weeks we had closed on it and moved in! It all just fell into place so easy that it was almost scary! Although Maci had a hard time with the moving part for awhile - I think she's really starting to love the new digs too!
It's quite a hike to the front door, but I think it looks pretty so who cares if I'm about to die of a heart attack by the time I get to the top hehe!

This is the front balcony. It's so nice and relaxing up there - and we love the views too!

This is the messy kitchen... The funny thing is that I snuck into the house a million times before it actually became mine and I never once noticed that there were no cabinets on top. I brought my family & friends over to see it and none of them noticed either. We finally noticed as we were unpacking boxes and realized that the cups/plates/bowls had to go on the bottom. Thank God Maci has outgrown her love to drag everything out of the cabinets!

This is Maci's room. Ignore the ugly curtains, but we had just moved in so we left the originals up for the time being! Maci got a really "big girl bed" when we moved to the new house. It's so tall that she has to use a stool to get up on it, but she loves it so that's all that matters! She picked this room the first time we saw the house because it has green walls! It works out perfect because it's upstairs and just down the hall from mine!

As soon as we actually hang things on any of the other walls I will post more pictures. It's pretty bare right now though! I'm waiting for my interior decorators to show up (a.k.a. Misty, Christy, Nicole and Charlene)!!!

July

In July the Pruetz family came to visit us! We had such a great time with them and wish that they would come more often! Maci, Kaylee & Addy were so cute together and had a blast (except for Maci's occasional breakdowns)! We went to Silverton for a night, which is always a good time! We got to watch the parade and tried fighting old ladies for candy! We hung out at my house too and let off fireworks until we got caught by the fire department! It was fun while it lasted though!

Nathan won over all the kids (girls especially) in the camp and took them all on rides! They came back covered in mud!

Nicole took the girls for a ride which they loved until it got a little to steep, then it was back to camp for them!

We always have such a great time with you guys and can't wait to see you again! I wish that we lived closer so that we could see all of you more than twice a year... Maybe when all the girls are older, the traveling will be much easier!

Just a tad bit behind... April - June

I realize that I haven't updated this thing in AGES... but to my defense, I have been moving, taking care of two houses, two yards, blah, blah, blah! Anyway - so here are a few catch up posts... I think I left off in April so a few things have happened since then (:
We traveled to Phoenix in April to see our friends Nicole (Micole as Maci calls her), Nate, Kaylee & Addy. We had such a great time and the kids had a blast together! I would post pictures, but apparently they are on my work computer... so since I'm on a mission to do some updates - I'll post those later...
We also celebrated my mom's birthday in April by taking her to dinner in Durango (Again no photo's but...) Anyway after dinner we had to have a little treat from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. The next day I was putting Maci in the back seat and I saw chocolate all over the floor so I told Maci "Look at all that chocolate - I think it was from your Uncle BB" so Maci says "Yeah - he's an asshole huh mom"! I almost died! I tried as hard as I could to be serious and tell her that wasn't nice, but I knew I couldn't hold in my laughter for long, so I ran into the house and told my parents what she said. When I got back out to the car I told her again how horrible it was to say those things so she tells me "ok mom, I will just say that he is naughty, not that he is a damn old asshole ok?"! I don't know how I held a straight face on that one! I blame Nana for that language (haha)!
I really can't think of much that happened in May - so we will skip right over that month... Ooops except Maci's Papa's birthday! Happy Birthday Papa (a.k.a. Dad)!
Same with June... a few birthdays, but again no pictures so...

Oh those messy messy eggs...

This year we decorated eggs with Loni, JP, JR, Tre & Brady! Maci was excited to do some damage with the bigger boys! They dyed, painted, glittered, colored, etc. over 5 dozen eggs and had a blast doing it! Thanks to the LaBosierre Family for having us over!

And of course Mr. Brady oversaw the whole production!

Who loves the Easter Bunny?? Maci does, Maci does!

Maci loves this guy more than most things in life right now! She was so excited to see him and didn't want to leave. The only way I finally got her to leave was to bribe her by letting her pick out an Easter dress! Most kids take bribes of candy - but not my girl - she goes big! She had to have the whole shebang: dress, socks, tights (yes I know who needs frilly socks AND tights right? Maci..) a little purse to match, a Easter hat (thanks Nana) and a sweater... It would have been cheaper to stay with the damn bunny but, hindsight is 20/20!

My birthday wish!

So this year for my birthday - ALL I wanted was my cousin Loni to have her baby boy Brady and guess what??!! My wish came true! Thanks Loni for giving birth on such a great day haha! Little Brady Thomas LaBosierre arrived 03/16/10, 11:2? (I forgot the exact time, sorry Brady) weighing in at 8lbs 2oz and 21-1/4" long. He is so handsome and such a good baby for his mommy and daddy! Maci was so excited to FINALLY get to meet him! This was the longest 9 months of her life!

Aren't they the cutest little cousins you have ever seen?
So yet another birthday has bitten the dust, being 29 for the 6th time is a little harder than it was the 5th time, but what can I do?! I had a great birthday with my family and finally getting to meet Brady so I won't complain! PLUS, my daughter seriously has the best tastes in gifts out of any 3 year old I have ever met! She picked out, purchased and wrapped a new Kindle for her good old Mama! I was so excited! (Thanks Nana!)

Merry "March" Christmas Maci!

So for Christmas this past year, my parents decided that Maci's present would be to take her to Disney Land and Sea World, (she's not spoiled even a little bit (: ). Thankfully, being that I am her mother, I got to tag along for the ride haha!

We drove to CA in their motorhome. I actually wasn't looking forward to the ride all that much, you know - 12 or 13 hours on the road with the whole family - eeeekkkk!! Just kidding (kind of), but the ride was great, besides a few little mishaps that I won't mention here, especially since one of them was my fault... There is nothing better than to be able to sit around eating cookies, napping, reading, watching movies - all while someone else is driving the bus, (thanks Dad!)!

We hit Disneyland for a day, and had so much fun! Maci loved seeing some of the characters and the rides.
She loved meeting Minnie!
And who could forget Goofy!

She's going to be mad that I can't remember the Princess and the Frog gal, but anyway here she is too!

Of course she met Jasmine:

And the best of them all (besides Cinderella, because let's be honest folks - NO ONE tops good old Cinderella in Maci's eyes... But Cindy was off that day, so...) second best was Belle!

She had to have her face all done-up! She picked the pattern this time. I really tried to talk her into a small little butterfly or heart, or you know something that didn't cover her whole forehead, but when dealing with a 3 year old, I've found that it's best to just let em have what they want occasionally!

We rode some rides:
I can't remember what this was called, but it was some spinning thingy. Maci wasn't terrified like it looks in this picture, believe it or not!
I don't know who had more fun on the spinning thingy, Maci or Papa?!

Then somehow we found the mirror that makes you look short and chubby! We all got a good laugh out of this one. I think my family could have stood in front of it for hours just laughing. Maci was doing this funny little dance and I know it's not nice to be politically incorrect - but she looked like one funny little person!

We also went to Sea World for a day. We had a great time there too!

Maci hit the face painting booth again! Anything that looks like make-up and the girl can't get enough! I loved the little butterflies though! They lasted at least 15 minutes before she threw her first temper tantrum and sadly they melted all down her face!

Maci & Papa checking out some little sea (or seed as Maci calls it!) creature.

She talked her Nana into playing in the huge jungle gym/playground. You had to climb up huge nets to get to tunnels that you could crawl through to get to slides! She had a blast on that!

Then she found a big bounce to jump in and she was in HEAVEN!

Another ride on the spinning thingy!

We got to touch and feed sting rays. This was Maci's all time favorite thing! She didn't mind feeding them little fish (nor did she mind that it cost her Papa $6.00 for 6 teeny tiny little fish to feed them!) She wanted to stay there all day! Come to think of it, I think leaving here was when her cute little butterflies melted down her cheeks...

We all had such a good time! It was nice to get away to warmer weather and to be able to spend fun times with our family! I'd like to thank Maci for being born. Because of that - I get to tag along on some really cool trips! I'm going to be a little upset when she's older and my parents want to take her by herself haha! Just kidding - thanks Mom & Dad for another great trip! I think we both are a little spoiled!
